MyBillBook is Great for Billing — But What About Your Stock?

MyBillBook does not support multiple warehouses or godowns. If your business operates from more than one location — a shop floor and a storage godown, two branch stores, or a warehouse that supplies your retail counters — you have no way to track which items are in which location. You end up keeping a physical register for each godown and manually reconciling stock at the end of the day. Stock Register lets you create unlimited godowns, track stock in each location separately, and move items between them with full transfer records.

MyBillBook shows you a basic stock summary with current quantities in hand. That is where it stops. There is no item-wise ledger that shows you every purchase, sale, adjustment, and transfer for a specific product. There is no godown-wise breakdown telling you how much of each item is in each location. There are no stock movement reports to trace discrepancies. If stock is going missing or you need to audit a particular product, MyBillBook gives you no way to investigate. Stock Register provides a full item ledger with date-wise, party-wise movement history for every product in your catalog.

If you assemble kits, manufacture products, or process raw materials into finished goods, MyBillBook has nothing for you. There is no Bill of Materials (BOM), no production entry, and no way to automatically deduct raw materials when you record a production run. You have to manually update stock in and stock out for each component, which is slow and prone to errors. Stock Register has a full manufacturing module — define your BOMs, record production batches, and let the app automatically adjust raw material and finished goods quantities.

MyBillBook does not support barcode scanning. During billing, staff must search for items by name or code — a process that slows down the counter significantly when you have hundreds of products. The same problem applies to stock entries: receiving goods requires manually finding and updating each item. Stock Register supports barcode scanning on the Android app. Point your camera at a barcode to instantly add items to a bill, scan items during stock-in or stock-out operations, and run faster, more accurate inventory updates.

MyBillBook offers only basic stock alerts at best. You cannot set a minimum stock level per item and receive a proactive notification when that threshold is breached. In practice, most MyBillBook users discover stock shortages only when a customer asks for something that is out of stock — costing you a sale and damaging customer trust. Stock Register lets you set minimum quantity thresholds for every item individually. When stock falls below your defined level, you get an automatic alert so you can reorder before running out.
