Stock Register chemical manufacturing software replaces all of this with one simple application. Define formulations for every product, raise batch production orders that auto-calculate raw material consumption, track every drum and kilogram of chemical in your godown, record toll manufacturing job work, and generate GST invoices — all from your Android mobile or laptop browser.
Built for Chemical Manufacturing
From formulation management to batch tracking to GST billing — every feature is designed for how chemical businesses actually operate in India.
In chemical manufacturing, a Bill of Materials is called a Formulation or Recipe. It lists every raw material — base chemical, solvent, additive, catalyst, pigment, and packaging material — and the exact quantity needed to produce one unit (1 litre, 1 kg, 1 drum, 1 batch) of the finished product. Stock Register lets you create a separate formulation for every product grade and variant you manufacture. Once created, every time you raise a production order for that product, the system automatically calculates the total raw material requirement based on your formulation — and checks godown stock availability before you confirm. This eliminates manual calculation errors that cause batch failures in chemical production.
Chemical manufacturing runs in batches — you produce Batch #001 of Product A, then Batch #002. Each batch needs to be traceable from raw material input to finished goods output. In Stock Register, you raise a production order specifying the finished chemical product, the batch quantity, and the batch number. The system looks up your formulation and calculates total raw materials needed. For example, to produce 500 litres of industrial cleaner (Batch #045), the system might show: 320 litres of base chemical X, 80 litres of solvent Y, 60 litres of surfactant Z, and 40 litres of water. Once confirmed, each raw material quantity is automatically deducted from your raw material godown and the 500 litres of finished product are added to your finished goods godown.
Chemical raw materials have shelf lives. A solvent purchased in January may have a 12-month shelf life. An active ingredient may expire in 6 months. Without batch tracking, you risk using expired raw materials in production — leading to batch failures, product recalls, and regulatory issues. Stock Register tracks every raw material batch with its batch number, purchase date, and expiry date. When you confirm a production order, the system deducts from the oldest available batch first (FIFO). Near-expiry alerts notify you before any batch expires so you can prioritize its use in production or return it to the supplier. Finished goods can also be tracked by batch number and shelf life for customer dispatch.
Chemical raw material inventory is complex — solvents are tracked in litres, solid chemicals in kilograms, base materials sometimes in metric tonnes. Packaging like drums, carboys, and IBCs need separate tracking. Stock Register supports all Indian units of measurement and lets you set the unit per raw material (e.g., Isopropyl Alcohol tracked in litres, Titanium Dioxide tracked in kg, HDPE drums tracked by piece). You can create separate godowns for each physical storage area — a flammable solvent store, a dry chemical store, a blending bay — and see exactly what is in each location at any time. This is critical for chemical businesses where different materials have different storage requirements and safety classifications.
Toll manufacturing — where you supply the raw materials and pay another chemical unit to blend, process, or pack the finished product — is common among small Indian chemical businesses that lack certain processing equipment. Without a system to track what raw material was sent, what finished product was received back, and what is pending, you lose visibility and control over your toll manufacturing operations. Stock Register's job work module handles this completely. You record a job work issue entry (delivery challan) when you send chemicals to a toll manufacturer. When the finished product is received, you record a job work receipt. The software maintains a running ledger per toll manufacturer showing outstanding raw material quantity and estimated value at risk.
GST for chemical manufacturers is complex. Different chemical products fall under different HSN codes with different tax rates — surfactants at 18%, agrochemical intermediates at 12%, cleaning preparations at 18%, paints and varnishes at 28%. Raw material purchases also carry input GST credit that must be tracked against output tax liability. Stock Register lets you pre-configure the HSN code and GST rate for every product and raw material individually. Sales invoices apply the correct GST automatically. Purchase bills capture input credit. At month-end, GSTR-1 and GSTR-2 reports are generated in the correct format, ready to upload to the GST portal.
How It Works
From raw material drum in your store to finished chemical dispatched to customer — every step tracked automatically.
Define the exact raw material quantities — in kg, litres, or grams — needed to produce one unit of each finished chemical product. Set the batch number format, shelf life, and HSN code. Done once, reused for every production batch going forward.
Select the chemical product and batch size. System auto-calculates total raw material consumption based on your formulation. Checks godown stock availability. Assign a batch number. Confirm — raw materials deducted instantly, finished goods added to inventory.
Create a GST invoice for the customer with correct HSN code and GST rate in under a minute. Download GSTR-1 and GSTR-2 at month-end. Full batch-wise production and stock history available anytime for audits or customer queries.
