In chemical manufacturing, a Bill of Materials is called a Formulation or Recipe. It lists every raw material — base chemical, solvent, additive, catalyst, pigment, and packaging material — and the exact quantity needed to produce one unit (1 litre, 1 kg, 1 drum, 1 batch) of the finished product. Chemical manufacturing runs in batches — you produce Batch #001 of Product A, then Batch #002. Each batch needs to be traceable from raw material input to finished goods output. The system looks up your formulation and calculates total raw materials needed. For example, to produce 500 litres of industrial cleaner (Batch #045), the system might show: 320 litres of base chemical X, 80 litres of solvent Y, 60 litres of surfactant Z, and 40 litres of water. Once confirmed, each raw material quantity is automatically deducted from your raw material godown and the 500 litres of finished product are added to your finished goods godown.
