What are the different types of invoice formats available?

We have 5 types of invoice formats — Standard, Modern, Stylish, Enterprise and Classic. Each format can be downloaded as PDF. You can also customise the theme colour to match your brand. The same 5 themes are available for quotations, purchase orders, proforma invoices and delivery challans.

What are the mandatory details in a GST invoice?

A valid GST invoice must contain: supplier name, address and GSTIN (15-digit), invoice number (unique, sequential, max 16 characters), date of issue, buyer name, address and GSTIN (or 'URP' for unregistered), HSN code for goods or SAC code for services, item description, quantity and unit, taxable value, tax rate and amount — CGST + SGST for intra-state or IGST for inter-state, total invoice value, place of supply, and signature.

What is the difference between CGST, SGST and IGST on a GST bill?

CGST (Central GST) and SGST (State GST) are charged together on intra-state transactions — when seller and buyer are in the same state. Each gets half the total GST rate. For example, if GST is 18%, CGST is 9% and SGST is 9%. IGST (Integrated GST) is charged on inter-state transactions — when seller and buyer are in different states. IGST equals the full GST rate (e.g., 18%).

How to calculate closing stock in a stock register?

Closing Stock = Opening Stock + Stock Inward (purchases/received) − Stock Outward (sales/issued). For example, if you started the month with 100 units, purchased 50 more and sold 80, your closing stock is 100 + 50 − 80 = 70 units. This closing stock becomes the opening stock for the next period.

What is the difference between stock summary and stock entry report?

A stock summary report shows the overall picture — opening stock, total inward, total outward and closing stock of all items for a selected period. It answers 'how much stock do I have?'. A stock entry report shows every individual transaction for a specific item — each purchase, sale, adjustment and transfer with bill numbers, dates and running balance. It answers 'what happened to this item?'.
